Convert AVIF to PNG
Drop your AVIF files and download PNG versions. Transparency is kept, and the files never leave your device.
Drop your AVIF files here
Converted to PNG on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
PNG keeps every pixel exactly, so there is no quality setting.
Why convert AVIF to PNG
PNG opens in practically all software and keeps transparent areas. It is a good choice when a program or upload form does not accept AVIF, or when you want to edit an image without compressing it again each time you save it.
What changes
PNG stores pixels without loss, so the file is usually much larger than the AVIF, especially for photographs. Converting does not bring back detail that a lossy AVIF already gave up; it only stops further loss.
Questions
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, using your device's own image engine. The file is never sent to our servers or to anyone else.
Is transparency kept?
Yes. PNG supports transparency, so transparent areas of your AVIF stay transparent.
Why is the PNG so much bigger than my AVIF?
PNG does not compress with loss, so it needs more space to store the same picture, especially a photograph.
Is it free, and is there a limit?
It is free, with no account and no limit on how many images you convert. Each image can be up to 40 MB, and up to 30 can go in at once.
