Convert WebP to PNG

Drop your WebP files and download PNG versions. Transparency is kept, and the files never leave your device.

Drop your WebP files here

Converted to PNG on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

PNG keeps every pixel exactly, so there is no quality setting.

Why convert WebP to PNG

PNG is supported by practically all software and keeps transparency. It is a good choice when a program or upload form does not accept WebP, or when you want to edit an image without compressing it again each time you save it.

What changes

PNG stores pixels without loss, so the file is usually larger than the WebP, sometimes much larger. Converting does not bring back detail that a lossy WebP already gave up; it only stops further loss.

Questions

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs in your browser, using your device's own image engine. The file is never sent to our servers or to anyone else.

Why is the PNG bigger than my WebP?

PNG does not compress with loss, so it needs more space to store the same picture, especially photographs.

Is it free, and is there a limit?

It is free, with no account and no limit on how many images you convert. Each image can be up to 40 MB, and up to 30 can go in at once.

What if my browser cannot create this format?

The page tells you before you start. Browsers differ in which formats they can write, and current versions of Chrome, Edge and Firefox are the safest choice.
