What the large display class covers

Apple lists these iPhones as iPhone with Dynamic Island (large display): iPhone Air, 18 Pro Max, 17 Pro Max, 16 Pro Max, 16 Plus, 15 Pro Max, 15 Plus and 14 Pro Max. The class accepts three portrait sizes, 1260 x 2736, 1290 x 2796 and 1320 x 2868 pixels, and the same three reversed for landscape. Apple adds that if screenshots with these sizes are not provided, scaled screenshots for iPhone with Face ID (large display) are used.

This is not the class Apple lists as required

Apple's list of required sizes names iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display), at 1179 x 2556 or 1206 x 2622. See the medium display guide, which also has a table of every iPhone class. Apple says that if your app's interface looks the same across device sizes and languages, you only need screenshots for the highest required resolution, and App Store Connect scales them down for smaller devices. You can also upload screenshots made for each size.

Which of the three sizes to use

Apple's page lists all three as accepted and does not say one is preferred. SizeSpec's preset outputs 1290 x 2796.
