What App Store says

  • RuleJPEG or PNG. Images can't include alpha channels or transparencies.
  • RuleiPhone Duo outer display: 1398 x 2034 px in portrait (landscape 2034 x 1398).
  • RuleiPhone Duo inner display: 2007 x 2853 px in portrait (landscape 2853 x 2007).
  • RuleStarting in April 2027, screenshots will be required for any app using the iOS 27.1 SDK or later.
  • TipSubmitting iPhone Duo screenshots in App Store Connect shows a badge on your product page that the app is optimized for iPhone Duo.

Apple states no file size limit on this page. This preset outputs the outer display size in portrait; the studio has a second preset for the inner display (2007 x 2853 px). A screenshot with a different shape loses its edges when cropped to fill, so use Fit on white to keep it whole.

When Apple requires them

Apple's note reads: starting in April 2027, screenshots will be required for any app using the iOS 27.1 SDK or later. When you submit iPhone Duo screenshots in App Store Connect, your App Store product page shows a badge that the app is optimized for iPhone Duo. Apple's page links to its guide on preparing apps for launch on iPhone Duo.

Which SizeSpec preset to use

SizeSpec has a preset for each display: iPhone Duo outer display (1398 x 2034) and iPhone Duo inner display (2007 x 2853). Pick the one that matches the display you are making screenshots for. Both output portrait JPEG files.

What the page does not say

  • It names no iPhone models for iPhone Duo.
  • It states no file size limit.
  • It does not say whether you can submit screenshots for only one of the two displays.

File rules

  • JPEG, JPG or PNG files.
  • At least one screenshot, and up to 10 per device size.
  • No alpha channels or transparencies. A PNG that has them can be saved as a JPEG with the free PNG to JPG converter.
  • Apple's page names no file size limit.

The class Apple lists as required today is the iPhone medium display. All the other iPhone sizes are in its table.
