Poshmark photo size: square cover shot and how many photos
Updated · 2 min read
Short answer
Poshmark does not publish a pixel size. Its photography guide says to use a square cover shot, a white or simple background, and up to 16 photos and 1 video per listing. Crop your photos to a square so nothing is cut off in search and closets.
The guide we read is Poshmark's own, published in January 2020. We found no Poshmark page that states a pixel size or file size, and third-party guides disagree, so nothing below is a size Poshmark requires. Test with one listing before you edit a whole batch.
What Poshmark says
- Cover shot: the first photo of a listing is the first impression of the item.
- Background: for the cover shot, a white or simple background keeps the product the focus.
- Square: listings appear square in search and in closets, and the guide says you crop photos to a square when you upload. It suggests shooting in your phone's square mode so you do not have to crop later.
- Number of photos: after the cover shot you can add up to 16 photos and 1 video.
- Size and file type: the guide does not state pixel dimensions, file types or a file size limit.
How to prepare a Poshmark photo
- 01Shoot the item against a plain white or simple background, with the whole item in view.
- 02Crop each photo to a square (1:1). If the item is tall or wide, fit it whole onto a square instead of cutting its edges. See how to crop a photo to a square.
- 03Keep the original large so the square stays sharp. See does cropping reduce image quality.
- 04Check the first photo in the app before you publish, because it is the one shoppers see in search.
SizeSpec has no Poshmark preset because Poshmark publishes no size to base one on. To make a batch of photos square for any marketplace, see how to crop multiple photos at once and how to crop and resize a photo to a specific size.

Selling online? Do a whole batch at once
SizeSpec crops and resizes a batch of product photos to the size Poshmark asks for and gives you one ZIP. It crops from the centre or pads the image on white, and it works in your browser, so your files are never uploaded. It does not offer free-hand cropping of a single picture.
