How it gets a photo under 100 KB
A limit of 100 KB is common for photo fields on online forms and for small web images. The page saves your picture as a JPG and searches for the highest quality that stays under 100 KB. If lowering the quality is not enough, it makes the picture a little smaller in pixels and tries again, and it shows you the final size for every file.
What to expect
The smaller the limit, the more detail a photo gives up, and a very large or very detailed picture may need a visible reduction. If a file cannot reach 100 KB, the page says so and shows the smallest result it could make. PNG and WebP files are converted to JPG, which has no transparency, so transparent areas become white. Keep your originals.

Will every photo end up under 100 KB?
Almost always, but not guaranteed. Each file shows its final size, and if one could not get under 100 KB the page says so instead of hiding it.
Will the picture get smaller in pixels too?
Only when lowering the quality alone is not enough. The page shows the final width and height for every file.
Is a KB 1,000 or 1,024 bytes?
This page counts 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, the stricter way. A file under the limit here is also under it when a form counts 1,024 bytes to the KB.
Is it free, and is there a limit?
